    This was a very hard read for me, amazing history and information but the Gullah language was hard to understand and unreal I have been to Sapelo Island several times, my next visit I view if from a different prospective I gave this book a 4 after talking to the author who was a guest of our book club for the discussion and finishing the book a week after the meeting Hearing her talk about the book an her research was very interesting.
